Short-stay parking
Short-stay parking: spaces that really turn over
Outside a bakery, a pharmacy or a post office, a short-stay space is only useful if it frees up quickly. With QR Blue, drivers scan the QR code on the space, declare their plate and a timer starts; officers see at a glance who has overstayed.

What municipalities face
Short-stay spaces taken for the whole day
Without simple checks, one parked car blocks the space shopkeepers were counting on for their customers.
A disc that cannot be verified
A parking disc is set by hand and turned again on return: officers cannot know how long the vehicle has been there.
Officers cannot watch every space
Checking each vehicle's arrival time requires regular rounds that staffing does not allow.
Shopkeepers asking for turnover
Local shops depend on passing customers: every blocked space is a lost customer.
What QR Blue brings
- One QR code per space or group of spaces, on a post or a sign
- Drivers declare their plate with no app and no account, and see their remaining time
- A maximum duration per zone (for example 15 or 20 minutes), with or without extension
- A wait between two stops and a daily cap to prevent chaining
- Checks in one scan: ongoing parking, overstays, plate or badge
- Vehicles authorised on the zone (deliveries, disabled drivers…) exempted automatically by their badge

Frequently asked questions
Is a by-law needed to create short-stay spaces?
Yes: a mayoral order sets the location of the spaces, the maximum duration and how it is checked, and provides for declaration by QR instead of the disc. QR Blue supplies the signs to print.
Do drivers need to install an app?
No. The QR code opens a web page: they enter their plate once, it is pre-filled when they return, and the remaining time is shown on screen.
How do officers check?
With the QR Blue enforcement app, they scan the space's QR code or enter the plate: they see ongoing parking and overstays, with the authorised end time.
Can drivers be warned before the end?
Yes, if the authority enables SMS: a message is sent a few minutes before the end, with a link to extend when the zone allows it.
What happens outside regulated hours?
Time slots are set per zone, public holidays included: outside them, the page says parking is unrestricted and no declaration is required.
